Warranty on Air Conditioners

Blue Star provides various types of warranties across different product segments in Air Conditioners.

  1. Standard Warranty (SW) of 1 Year, from the date of Installation, on the entire range of Window ACs, Fixed Speed SACs, Inverter SACs, Commercial Split ACs and Portable ACs.

    Standard Warranty means ‘Repair/Replacement’ of any part of the AC found defective, subject to the confirmation of the technical personnel of Blue Star Limited or any of its authorised service dealers or service associates, due to faulty material or workmanship. It excludes all types of air filters, all plastic and metal parts and remote handset and defect caused due to improper handling or usage or maintenance of the product or any use contrary to the operations specified in user manual supplied with the product.

  2. Additional Warranty of 9 Years, on the Inverter Compressor on Inverter High Wall Split Air conditioners, on completion of 1st year from the date of Installation.
  3. Additional Warranty of 4 Years, on the Compressor on Fixed Speed Window ACs, Fixed Speed High Wall SACs and Portable ACs, on completion of 1st year from the date of Installation.
  4. Additional Warranty of 4 Years, on the Inverter Compressor of Inverter Window ACs and Inverter Cassette Split ACs, on completion of 1st year from the date of Installation.
  5. Additional Warranty of 4 Years, on the MCHX Condenser Coil (ODU Coil) of MCHX SKUs of Fixed Speed and Inverter High Wall SACs, on completion of 1st year from the date of Installation.

    Additional Warranty is applicable only on those components or parts of the relevant product as mentioned above. Blue Star, shall at its sole discretion repair or replace such defective parts thereof. Blue Star reserves the right to decide at its discretion, for replacing any defective part with a substitute without affecting the performance of the product. All parts removed by Blue Star shall be the property of Blue Star. In the event Blue Star carries out repairs or replacement of any part during the said Additional Warranty Period, the warranty shall thereafter continue only for the remaining period of the warranty.

  6. Extended Warranty (EW) of 4 Years, Applicable on all the Window ACs, Inverter Window ACs ,Fixed speed Split ACs and Inverter Split ACs for residential and commercial application, on completion of 1st year from the date of Installation.

    Extended Warranty covers repairs, rectification or replacement of the components including the PCB of IDU or ODU, IDU Evaporating Coil, ODU Condenser Coil and Gas charging. Defective parts shall be replaced with a functionally working, repaired or new equivalent part. All decisions shall be at full discretion of Blue Star Service and as per the Warranty Terms and Conditions mentioned in the User Manual.

    Extended Warranty is optional and can be availed on annual basis, or in blocks of two, three or four years by making 100% advance payment of PMS charges, depending on the application of the product, directly to Blue Star or its authorised SSD or ESA.

    Under Extended Warranty the customer will be entitled for 2 Preventive Maintenance Services (PMS) in case of residential usage and 4 Preventive Maintenance Services (PMS) in case of commercial usage.

    Extended Warranty excludes all types of air filters, all plastic and metal parts and remote handset.

  7. We are delighted to announce the PCB Extended Warranty (PCB EW) of 4 Years, on the PCB of IDU or ODU (excluding the Remote Handset) of Inverter High Wall Split ACs and Inverter Window ACs, on completion of the 1st year from the date of Installation.

    Under the PCB Extended Warranty, repair or rectification or replacement of the components in the PCB or the whole PCB thereof will be carried out free of cost for the material used, under the PCB EW period of 4 years. All such repairs, rectification or replacement shall be at full discretion of Blue Star and as per the Warranty Terms and Conditions mentioned in the User Manual.

    PCB defects arising out of 24X7 usage, huge voltage spikes, lightning strikes, floods and non-compliance of adequate earthing of the air conditioner, faulty voltage stabilizer and tampering of the PCB by unauthorised personnel are not covered under the PCB EW.

    The consumer will be charged the visit charges as applicable at the time of repair or rectification or replacement under the PCB EW.

  8. Common Terms & Conditions:

    The consumer should download the ‘Blue Star Customer Care App’ and register with relevant details for availing the standard, additional and extended warranty as applicable.

    The installation of the AC has to be carried out by Blue Star Authorised SSD or ESA.

    Customer will have to present the invoice copy to the Blue Star Authorised SSD or ESA to avail the benefits under warranties. Soft copy of the invoice or warranty registration copy is also sufficient to avail the applicable warranties.

    All types of warranty will be null and void in:

    (1) applications where the products are used 24x7 for 365 days (such as ATMs with 1 working AC or any other applications) and usage other than comfort such as to cool or dehumidify or heat machines or materials;

    (2) cases where the product or any component has been tampered with or replaced or repaired by personnel other than the Blue Star authorised Service personnel.

    Blue Star shall not be liable or be deemed to be in default for any delay or failure in performance resulting directly or indirectly from causes beyond its reasonable control including delay in repairing due to non-availability of any component or accessory, labour problem, restrictions and regulations of the government, public movement, war and any unavoidable circumstances, specially vis-à-vis the import of supplies and raw material or if Blue Star is otherwise prevented from performing its functions under this warranty.

    Company's obligation under all types of warranties shall be limited to repair of part/s only. The maximum amount of liability with respect to any Product related claim/s, if entertained by Blue Star, will be subject to the maximum retail price of the Product purchased or the purchase price, whichever is lower.

    All other terms and conditions shall remain the same as mentioned in user manual of the product except for those covered above.

Warranty on Water Purifiers

Blue Star Water Purifier comes with a standard warranty of performance. Under this warranty, the purchaser is entitled to the following:

  1. Repair/replacement of any part of the Water Purifier found defective within a period of 12 months from the date of purchase (“Warranty Period”) with a functionally effective part, against original invoice and Warranty Card of the product, subject to fulfilment of Warranty Obligations by the Customer specified hereunder, and if proved upon inspection by Blue Star Limited or any of its authorised service dealers or service associates, to have been defective due to faulty material or workmanship.
  2. Consumable items like Pre-Filter, Sediment Filter, Carbon Filter, RO/UF Membrane, UV Lamp, Post-Carbon Filter with Immuno Boost Technology / Alkaline Antioxidant Water (with added minerals), Aqua Mineral Infuser (AMI) amongst others that are subject to normal wear and tear are not covered by this Warranty. However, if the RO Membrane gets clogged within the first year and/or if the filters get clogged within the first six months, they shall be cleaned/repaired/ replaced at no extra charge. Further, the plastic body is not covered under Warranty and hence, it must be handled carefully to avoid breakage. This is applicable for Genia, Iconia, Imperia, Opulus, Eleanor models.
  3. Consumable items like Pre-Filter, Carbon Filter, Sediment Filter, RO/UF Membrane, UV Lamp amongst others that are subject to normal wear and tear are not covered by this warranty. Further, the plastic body is not covered under warranty and hence, it must be handled carefully to avoid breakage. This is applicable for Aristo, Excella, Magnus models.
  4. This Warranty is void if the unit is not operated under normal municipal water or well water of TDS less than 2000 ppm and iron less than 0.3 ppm. This is applicable for RO models only.
  5. Three service visits, as and when necessary, will be carried out by Blue Star free of cost, within the municipal limits of the city or town where the Blue Star dealer/office is situated, during the subsistence of Warranty Period. This is applicable for Genia, Iconia, Imperia, Opulus, Eleanor, Magnus models.
  6. The Eternia advanced UV LED technology comes with a product lifetime warranty which means it will be repaired/replaced at no extra charge considering regular family residential usage.
  7. The purchaser should preserve the original invoice and Warranty Card for necessary verification and produce it at the time of availing warranty services. Please ensure registration of your product warranty to ensure prompt service assistance.
  8. The Water Purifier is designed to operate at a voltage supply of 230V/50Hz with a tolerable variation of plus or minus 10%. Any failure due to operation of the machine beyond these limits will not be covered under warranty. If the voltage prevailing is beyond these limits, the purchaser is advised to install a good quality voltage stabiliser.
  9. Blue Star Limited shall not be liable or be deemed to be in default for any delay or failure in performance resulting directly or indirectly from causes beyond its reasonable control including delay in repairing due to labour problem, restrictions, and regulations of the government, public movement, war or any other unavoidable circumstances.
  10. Any changes in the location of the unit or ownership thereof must be intimated in writing to Blue Star Limited 10 days in advance and only authorised dealer/service associate shall remove and install the units on chargeable basis.
  11. In the models offering cold water, in case the compressor is to be replaced under warranty, Blue Star Limited undertakes the responsibility of supplying the replacement compressor free of cost during the standard Warranty Period.
  12. Blue Star Limited or any of its authorised dealers/service franchisees cannot be held liable for any sickness or illness due to the consumption of drinking water from any water purifier supplied by the Company if maintenance and usage of the water purifier is not as per prescribed standards.
  13. The Company reserves the right to change or improve design and specifications at any time, without any contingent obligations to prospective buyers or owners of the products previously sold.
  14. Under no circumstances, the liability of the Company or its authorised dealer/service franchisee shall exceed the value of the product.
  15. The customer will notify the Company properly about any defects noticed and give the Company or its authorised dealer sufficient opportunity to inspect, test and remedy them, for which the customer will deposit the goods, if necessary, with the company’s office/service centre along with the original invoice, in the city where they are sold.
  16. Inspection and test report of the Company’s office/service centre will be treated as final and binding under the warranty for determining defects, repairs/alterations required or carried out, or certifying working of the goods thereafter.
  17. The Company or its authorised dealer will be entitled to retain any defective parts replaced under the warranty.

The warranty will become null and void if:

  1. The product is not operated according to instructions given in this user’s manual.
  2. The product is not used for residential purpose.
  3. The product is subject to conditions beyond input water temperature range of 5°C to 40°C and input water pressure range of 4 to 30 psi.
  4. Installation/reinstallation/service/repairs of product is done by any person other than Blue Star Limited’s authorised dealer/service associate.
  5. Damage is caused to the product due to an abnormally corrosive alkaline/acidic atmosphere.
  6. In models offering cold water, any loss of refrigerant occurs due to accident, fire, flood, earthquake, sabotage or improper handling.
  7. The original serial number of the product or any part thereof is removed, obliterated or altered.
  8. Defects are caused because of factors beyond control of Blue Star Limited, like lightning, abnormal voltage, Acts of God, environmental conditions, negligence of the purchaser in using product.
  9. In the models offering cold water, the failure of the compressor is due to lack of proper maintenance of the product or if the product is repaired or attended by an unauthorised person. The Company’s decision in this regard will be final and binding on the purchaser.
  10. The failure of the compressor or any other part of the Water Purifier is due to usage of inferior or faulty voltage stabiliser.

Warranty on Air Coolers

Blue Star Ltd. gives a 1-year standard warranty on Air Coolers, commencing from the date of purchase on your Blue Star Air Cooler.

Under this warranty, the purchaser is entitled to the following:

  1. Within 12 months from the date of purchase; any replacement for the component(s) found to be defective will be made and repairs executed free of charge by the Company. Parts repaired or replaced are under warranty through the remainder of the original warranty period only.

    Only the Company or the Authorised service agents or dealers can service, repair or attend to the Blue Star product.

  2. This warranty does not cover any form of damage resulting from accident and misuse, application of incorrect voltage or any use contrary to the operation instructions supplied with the product.
  3. The Company will not be responsible for any damage arising due to unauthorised modification or alterations of any nature made to the product.
  4. The Company will not be responsible for any damages incurred during transit of the product.
  5. This warranty is not valid if the serial number of the product has been deleted, defaced or altered.
  6. This warranty does not cover the cost of transportation to the place of installation by the service centre.
  7. This warranty is subject to jurisdiction of Mumbai Court of Law.
  8. This warranty shall be confirmed to the purchaser of the product only.

Warranty on Air Purifiers

Blue Star Ltd. gives 1-year standard warranty, commencing from the date of purchase on your Blue Star Air Purifier.

Under this warranty, the purchaser is entitled to the following:

  1. Repair/replacement of any part of the air purifier (except consumable parts like Filters) found defective within 12 months from the date of purchase, if proved upon inspection by Blue Star Ltd. or any of its authorised service dealers or service associates, to have been defective due to faulty material or workmanship.
  2. Free after-sales service for a period within 12 months from the date of purchase, as and when necessary, within the municipal limits of the city or town where the Blue Star dealer/office is situated.

    Note: For units installed beyond the municipal limits of the jurisdiction of the Authorised Service Agent/Dealer of Blue Star, all expenses incurred in dispatching the unit, or parts thereof, from the Company’s authorised service station or the dealer of Blue Star, as well as expenses incurred in connection with deputing of service personnel/technicians, to and fro conveyance and other incidentals, etc will be borne by the customer.

  3. The purchaser should preserve the original invoice and Warranty Card for necessary verification and produce it at the time of availing warranty services.
  4. Single phase air purifiers are designed to operate at a voltage supply of 230 volts-50 Hz with a tolerable variation of plus or minus 5%. Any failure due to operation of the machine beyond these limits will not be covered under warranty. If the voltage prevailing is beyond these limits, the purchaser is advised to install a good quality voltage stabiliser.
  5. Blue Star Limited shall not be liable or be deemed to be in default for any delay or failure in performance resulting directly or indirectly from causes beyond its reasonable control including delay in repairing due to labour problem, restrictions, and regulations of the government, public movement, war or any other unavoidable circumstances.
  6. The warranty extended is in lieu of implied conditions and warranties under the law, and is limited to the repair or replacement of parts and does not cover any consequential or resulting liability, damage or loss due to non or partial performance of the product

    or any part thereof. Furthermore, the warranty in no case shall extend to the payment of any monetary consideration whatsoever or the replacement or return of the air purifier.

  7. Defective parts shall be replaced with a functionally working, repaired or new equivalent part.

The warranty will become null and void if:

  1. The Product is not operated according to instructions given in the user manual.
  2. Installation/re-installation/service/repairs of product is done by any person other than Blue Star Ltd.’s Authorised Dealer/Service Associate.
  3. Damage is caused to the product due to an abnormally corrosive alkaline/acidic atmosphere.
  4. The original serial number of the product or any part thereof is removed, obliterated, or altered.
  5. Defects are caused because of factors beyond control of Blue Star Ltd., like lightning, abnormal voltage, Acts of God, environmental conditions, negligence of purchaser in using product.

Note:

  1. None of the employees and/or Authorised Dealers and/or Service Associates of the Company have any authority whatsoever to change the terms and conditions of this warranty.
  2. This warranty should be deemed to have been issued at Mumbai, State of Maharashtra and courts at Mumbai shall have exclusive jurisdiction on matters covered by or following from this warranty and the original purchaser alone shall have cause of action arising out of the transaction.

Warranty on Deep Freezers

Blue Star provides different types of warranties across different product segments in Deep Freezers.

  1. 4 years comprehensive warranty from the date of sale on Hard Top Deep Freezers, Glass Top Deep Freezers, Bottle Coolers.

    Comprehensive warranty means repair/replacement of parts found defective, within 48 months from the date of sale. Parts include compressor, fan motor, thermostat and internal leaks. Parts such as electrical cable, bimetal/plastic body, lid, grilles, handles, hinges, locks, rubber/glass/plastic parts and lights are not covered.

  2. Standard warranty of 1 year with 2 years extended warranty for the compressor on Cooler cum Freezers.

    Standard warranty is limited to repair/replacement of any part of the unit found defective within 12 months from the date of sale. Parts covered include compressor, fan motor and PCB. Parts such as Thermostat, condenser, copper pipe, electrical cable, bimetal/plastic body, lid, grilles and other plastic parts are not covered.

    Extended Warranty covers repairs, rectification or replacement of the compressor.

Common Terms and Conditions:

  1. Costs towards gas charging and technician visit will be charged extra after 1 year.
  2. The Warranty will be valid only if the Chest Freezer is operated on a power supply of single phase AC 230V ± 10% and ELCB/RCCB or similar safety device is installed.
  3. This Warranty ceases to be valid if:

    (a) Service/repairs on the equipment are carried out by any person other than the one authorised by the Company.

    (b) The equipment is let on hire.

    (c) A defective voltage stabiliser is in use.

  4. Any consequential damage or loss arising from any cause whatsoever, is excluded from this Warranty. Any abuse of the machine is not covered under Warranty.
  5. Failure/deterioration of any part/assembly, arising in the Company’s opinion, by reasons of shifting to another location, accident, alteration, abuse/misuse, substitution of original part(s) with unauthorised part(s) or any damage caused by fire/flood, etc., or exposure to weather conditions, are not covered under this Warranty.
  6. This Warranty will continue to be in force for the term herein specified irrespective of any replacement parts which may be provided under Warranty and such replacement parts shall not carry any fresh Warranty
  7. Employees and/or authorised dealers of the Company have no authority to vary the terms of this No person is authorised to assume, in the Company’s name or on the Company’s behalf, any other

    obligation or liability in respect of this appliance.

  8. Any dispute whatsoever covering our Warranty terms, if not amicably settled, shall be referred to a mutually approved arbitrator, in Mumbai.

    All other terms and conditions shall remain the same as mentioned in user manual of the product except for those covered above.

Warranty on Bottled Water Dispensers

  1. Blue Star gives a standard warranty of 1 year on Bottled Water Dispensers, commencing from the date of purchase.
  2. Standard warranty is limited to repair/replacement of any part of the unit found defective within 12 months from the date of sale. Parts covered include compressor and PCB. Parts such as thermostat, condenser, copper pipe, electrical cable, bimetal/plastic body, lid, grilles and other plastic parts are not covered.
  3. Costs towards gas charging and technician visit will be charged extra after 1 year.
  4. The warranty will be valid only if the Bottled Water Dispenser is operated on a power supply of single phase AC 230V ± 10% .
  5. This warranty ceases to be valid if:

    (a) Service/repairs on the equipment are carried out by any person other than the one authorized by the Company.

    (b) The equipment is let on hire.

    (c) A defective voltage stabilizer is in use.

  6. Any consequential damage or loss arising from any cause whatsoever, is excluded from this Warranty. Any abuse of the machine is not covered under Warranty.
